Rockford home prices unchanged in the first half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2017 in Rockford was unchanged while total sales increased by 10.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2017, there were 1,344 homes sold, with a median sale price of $65,000. There were 1,218 homes sold in Rockford in the first half of 2016, and the median sales price for the period was also $65,000.

The median sales tax in Rockford for 2017 was $2,330. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,291. This marks an increase of 1.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 3.6%.
