Micah Swanson Voted First Team All-NACC and Kevin Diemer Selected Second Team All-NACC

The Rockford University men's basketball program had a pair of players recognized by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Tuesday afternoon when the NACC released its 2022-23 postseason awards. Forward Micah Swanson was voted First Team All-NACC and fellow junior forward Kevin Diemer was selected Second Team All-NACC. This marks the second time in the last three years that Rockford has had multiple All-NACC recipients.

Forward Micah Swanson was voted First Team All-NACC for the first time in his collegiate career. Swanson was a force for the Regents on both ends of the floor, setting or tying career-highs in basically every statistical category. He also finished his season ranked in the top 15 in the NACC in five categories, including four top seven rankings. He was second in the NACC in offensive rebounds per game (3.3), third in field goal percentage (56.7%), sixth in blocks per game (1.2), seventh in total rebounds per game (7.7) and fourteenth in points per game (14.3). Through his first three seasons at Rockford, Swanson has amassed 757 points on an impressive 57.1% shooting, 426 rebounds, 61 assists and 49 blocks.

Forward Kevin Diemer was tabbed Second Team All-NACC by the conference's head coaches. This marks the second season that Diemer has received a postseason award from the NACC (2021 - NACC South Division Player of the Year and First Team All-NACC). Despite missing a month with an injury, Diemer still put together another impressive season for the Regents. He was voted the conference's first men's basketball player of the week this year and finished his season ranked in the top ten in four categories. Diemer ranked fourth in the NACC in offensive rebounds per game (2.9), sixth in total rebounds per game (8.2), ninth in points per game (14.9) and tenth in field goal percentage (47.6%). He also scored his 1,000th point as a Regent this year and became just the fifteenth player in program history to record 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. So far as a Regent, he has amassed 1,081 points on 50.7% shooting, 659 rebounds, 142 assists, 53 steals and 42 blocks.
