2021 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Boone County?

There were 46 offenders released on parole during 2021 that live in Boone County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rockford Sun.

The data shows 36 men and 10 women were released in Boone County. Of the parolees, one was a veteran, and the median age was 34. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2021, and the oldest was a 63-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 1987.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Michael Long. He was convicted of a property crime in 1987 when he was 27 years old. He is now 63.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in 2021 in each Boone County.
