The lowest reported price for E15 gas in Winnebago County was $2.48 per gallon during the week ending Feb. 28, available at one gas station, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
The average reported price of E15 gas across the county was $2.67 per gallon.
Among 142 gas stations in cities within Winnebago County, six offered E15 gas.
Across Illinois, the average reported price for a gallon of E15 gas rose to $2.76, compared to the week before.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
