City of Carlyle Employee Concerns Committee met Jan. 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The Employee Concerns Committee meeting was called to order by Committee Chairman Bruce Hilmes at 6:00 p.m. at the Case Halstead Library, 550 6th Street, Carlyle, Illinois.

Present were Aldermen Bruce Hilmes, Mike Jansen, Scott Diekemper, Bailey Ellis, Tammy Peters, and Jeff Taylor. Also present were City Administrator Brad Myers, Mayor Judy Smith, Acting Chief of Police Jason Herzing, and City Clerk Rita Jurgensmeyer. Committee members Aldermen Jim McClaren and Jeremy Weh were absent.

Approval of Minutes

The approval of minutes was continued until the next meeting.

Executive Session

At 6:01 Alderman Bruce Hilmes made a motion to go into executive session for 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. Alderman Scott Diekemper seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

Return to Open Session

At 6:43 p.m. the council returned to regular session.

Vote on Executive Session Item(s)

Alderman Bruce Hilmes made a motion to send to council Jason Herzing’s Chief of Police contract. Alderman Jeff Taylor seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

Adjournment

At 6:44 p.m. Alderman Bruce Hilmes made a motion to adjourn. Alderman Mike Jansen seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.
