II. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES

The minutes of the last regular meeting held on March 13, 2024, were approved as submitted.

III. TRAFFIC REQUESTS

A. New Business

1. Request in the 10th Ward, by Ray Nino, to establish residential parking on the east side of 23rd Street from Charles Street to 9th Avenue. (This item was laid over from the March Traffic Commission meeting so that the requestor could be contacted for more information. K. Lin commented that the traffic team called the requestor three times and left messages. No return call was received. It was also noted that all the survey responses received were not in favor of the request. Commission recommended taking “No Action.” Motion by C. Tumeo, seconded by B. Strawser, Voted 7-0).

2. Request in the 6th Ward, by Rockford Fire Department, to establish “No Parking Any Time” restriction on the east side of Assembly Drive from 637 feet south of Research Parkway to 804 feet south of Research Parkway. (C. Tumeo explained that fire department access to PCI is difficult when parking is allowed in the request area. K. Lin explained that a spokesperson for PCI finds the request acceptable. Commission recommended establishing “No Parking Any Time” restriction on the east side of Assembly Drive from 637 feet south of Research Parkway to 804 feet south of Research Parkway. Motion by D. Bissell, seconded by B. Strawser, Voted 7-0).
