The City of Rockford announced on March 15 that odd and even parking regulations will take effect at 10 p.m. to help crews clear the streets safely and efficiently.

The parking rules are intended to ensure that snow plows and other maintenance vehicles have enough space to operate, which helps keep roads accessible for residents and emergency services.

According to the announcement, residents should park their vehicles on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses by 10 p.m. tonight. By 8 a.m. tomorrow, vehicles should be moved to the side with even-numbered addresses. This system allows city crews to clear one side of the street at a time without obstruction from parked cars.

The city said, “When all cars are parked on the same side of the street, our plows have the space they need to safely and efficiently clear the roads.” The statement also thanked residents for their cooperation and urged everyone to stay safe during this period.

These measures are part of ongoing efforts by local authorities to maintain public safety during winter weather events.
