State Representative John M. Cabello and Mayor of Loves Park Greg Jury announced on Mar. 16 that they will host an IPASS On Demand event with the Illinois Tollway to help motorists switch from plastic transponders to new sticker technology. The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the City of Loves Park Government Building, located at 100 Heart Boulevard.

The event aims to assist residents in updating their IPASS devices without disruption to their accounts. Illinois Tollway officials will be present to guide attendees through the process of transferring to the new sticker tags and answer questions about IPASS accounts or ‘Pay by Plate’ issues.

Once activated, the new sticker tag can be used on both Illinois tollways and E-Z Pass roadways in other states within 24 hours. There is no deposit required for the sticker, and any $10 deposit previously paid for a transponder will transfer automatically when the account is updated.

Cabello serves as Assistant Minority Leader and State Representative for Illinois’ 90th House District, which includes communities such as Rockford, Machesney Park, Freeport, Roscoe, Loves Park, Rockton, South Beloit, Caledonia, Davis, Durand, Rock City, and Rockton.

Cabello was elected as a Republican to represent the state’s 90th House District in 2023 after replacing previous state representative Tom Demmer according to available information.
