The City of Rockford announced on March 12 that residents are invited to review and comment on proposed Annual Plan Amendments and the 2025 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER).

These documents outline how federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will be used for housing and community development programs in the coming year, as well as report on accomplishments and spending for Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships, and Emergency Solutions Grant programs. Public participation is encouraged to help guide future initiatives.

Two public hearings will be held on Tuesday, March 24. The first session is scheduled for noon at Patriot’s Gateway Community Center, located at 615 S. 5th Street. The second hearing will take place at 4 p.m. at Crusader Community Health, located at 1200 W. State Street. Both venues are accessible for persons with disabilities.

Residents can submit comments until 5 p.m., Friday, March 27. Feedback may be sent by email to Andrea Hinrichs at andrea.hinrichs@rockfordil.gov or by mail to the City of Rockford’s office at 425 E. State Street, Second Floor, Rockford, IL 61104.

The city said that community feedback plays an important role in shaping housing policies and development priorities.
