Report: Harlem spent $13,197 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Harlem Community School District 122 is up 13.3 percent from five years ago, according to a Rockford Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Winnebago County school district spent $11,643 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $13,197 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 6978 to 6544.

Harlem's spending in 2017-18 was 1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
