Administrators in Rockford School District 205 earn an average of $88,512 per year, ranking 638th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Rockford Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 6.7% higher than in 2014 and 2.2% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 17.5% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Winnebago County school district enrolled 28144 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 167 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
