SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.
SwedishAmerican is pleased to offer a free community presentation on heart health. The public presentation “Your Heart Health” will be held at the KeenAge Center, 2141 Henry Luckow Lane, in Belvidere on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 a.m. This event is one way SwedishAmerican is celebrating Heart Month in February.
Attendees will learn about the causes of heart failure, management tips, and prevention and how to catch it early. The keynote speaker will be SwedishAmerican Cardiologist Moses Kyobe, MD. Dr. Kyobe has nearly 15 years of cardiology experience and is board certified in internal medicine, general cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Medical Association and has a special interest in heart failure management and evaluation.
“Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and it affects everyone, young and old,” Dr. Kyobe said. “Early prevention is the key, but the signs can be easy to miss if you don’t know what you’re looking for. Heart health is something that everyone should learn about.”
