SWEDISHAMERICAN HOSPITAL: SwedishAmerican President and CEO Dr. Michael Born Receives Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives Credential

SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on May 8.

SwedishAmerican is pleased to announce that President and CEO Dr. Michael Born has earned the distinction of board certification in healthcare management with the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) Credential.

Dr. Born joins an esteemed group of healthcare leaders who have successfully earned the credential, signifying expertise, experience and commitment to continuing education and professional development.

The credentialing system is multifaceted and involves academic preparation, healthcare management experience, ACHE tenure, passing the Board of Governors Examination in Healthcare Management, continuing education, references and community and civic involvement. Fellows are also committed to ongoing professional development and must undergo recertification every three years.

“Career development is very important to all of us at SwedishAmerican, as it helps us to continue to meet the growing and ever-changing needs of our patients and community,” Dr. Born said. “I am honored to have reached this level of achievement in the healthcare executive profession.”

Dr. Born has been President and CEO of SwedishAmerican since 2017, overseeing operations and vision-casting for the 3,300-employee health system. He brings real-life experience to the boardroom, having spent 25 years of his career as an emergency medicine physician before coming to SwedishAmerican in 2013 as the Chief Medical Officer/Chief Quality Officer.
