SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on May 31.
SwedishAmerican is pleased to announce that it had two registered nurses named to this year’s Illinois Nurses Foundation 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders in Illinois list.
Ashley Pond, a nurse educator at SwedishAmerican, and John Patterson, manager of cardiac progressive care, were nominated and recognized for their outstanding leadership in the nursing profession by their peers.
The 40 under 40 awards recognize 40 nurses in Illinois younger than 40 who are impacting healthcare and the nursing profession today and who undoubtedly shape the future of the profession.
“We’re extremely proud to have these two outstanding nurses recognized for their hard work and dedication,” said Ann Gantzer, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at SwedishAmerican. “Nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare. Their knowledge, input and compassion are vital as we implement best practice to give our patients the very best care possible.”
The 40 nurse leaders will be honored at an awards celebration on September 12 in Lisle.
