SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on March 11.
SwedishAmerican EMS System will offer a daytime class to prepare people to become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). The class will run April 8 – May 20, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at SwedishAmerican’s EMS office, 4120 Charles Street.
To take the EMT class, you must be at least 17-years-old. To take the EMT licensing exam, you must be 18-years-old and have a high school diploma or GED.
SwedishAmerican EMS Coordinator Richard Robinson said, “We offer a very high-quality, results-driven training program that shows 92 percent of our students find employment following graduation.”
The class costs $750.00 and includes coursework, textbooks, a background check and t-shirt. People interested in taking SwedishAmerican’s EMT class must fill out an online application by April 1.
