Village of Rockton Budget & Finance Committee met September 3.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Chairman Winters called the regular meeting of the Budget & Finance Committee to order at 6:30 pm. Members present: Mayor Peterson, Sally Bennett, Scott Danielson, Connie Kieffer, Jodi May and Dave Winters
Staff present: Dan Barber, Dan Baumgartner, Jessica Carter, Tricia Diduch, Arianne Honkamp, Chief Hollinger and Justin York
Motion by Ms. May, second by Mr. Danielson, to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of August 20, 2024. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
SPECIAL WARRANT CONSIDERATIONS
None.
RECOMMENDATION OF PAYMENT
Bills were reviewed and recommended for approval in the amount of $149,141.57.
MAYOR PETERSON
None.
VILLAGE TREASURER, SALLY BENNETT
Mrs. Bennett stated that she met with Don Elliott last week and that he put in a full day with her at Village Hall. Mrs. Bennett commented that Mr. Elliott has never seen anything like our financials because there are many pockets of cash just sitting there. Mrs. Bennett said that she believes that there are adjustments that haven’t been done and that it just needs to get cleaned up. Mrs. Bennett stated that they need to get ready for the audit and get a trial balance done. Mrs. Bennett added that Mr. Elliott has a wealth of knowledge and experience and that she is glad to have him working with the Village.
Mrs. Bennett advised the Committee that she also provided job descriptions for the Village Administrator position that is being discussed in the Administration Committee meetings.
DAVE WINTERS, CHAIRMAN
Motion by Mr. Winters to ratify the consensus for Don Elliott to provide accounting services to the Village in the amount of $5,400, second by Ms. May. Roll call. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.
