Rep. Joe Sosnowski (R-Rockford) will host this year’s Kids’ Health and Safety Fair on Aug. 5 at Rockford Christian School, giving families the chance to learn about the services and programs offered by dozens of agencies, organizations and businesses.
“I am very excited to host an event that connects kids and families to the tremendous local resources and activities available throughout the Rockford area,” Sosnowski posted on his website. “This Fair will be interactive, fun and informational for families of all ages.”
This event is free and open to the public, though those attending can donate canned food items in exchange for raffle tickets for fun prizes and giveaways. Parents can check the safety of their car seats, access free diabetes screenings and receive free kids' identification kits. The fair will also feature an array of trucks and emergency vehicles in the Cool Vehicles exhibit, as well as activities like bouncy houses, a petting zoo and Knocker Ball.
