Report: Belvidere spent $11,114 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Belvidere Community Unit School District 100 is up 22 percent from five years ago, according to a Rockford Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Boone County school district spent $9,146 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,114 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 8503 to 8070.

Belvidere's spending in 2016-17 was 14 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
