Cherry Fire Department responded to 10 calls in 2017 - 25 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Cherry included 10 fires - six structure fires and four other fires.

The Cherry Valley FPD Firefighter's Pension Fund, which has 17 active employees and retired or inactive employee, was $62,019 positive as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $7,752 for every fire in 2016.
