New Milford Fire Protection District responded to 77 calls in 2017 - 208 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in New Milford included 60 fires - 36 structure fires, five vehicle fires and 19 other fires.

In all, the department saw $772,000 in fire loss - or about $12,867 per fire.

The department also received 17 false calls.

The New Milford Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $758,400 in 2017.
