According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 2,158 students during the year. That equates to 26.7 percent of the 8,070 students enrolled.
Of the 1,263 in-school suspensions, 1,009 were given to boys and 254 were given to girls, including 361 elementary or middle schoolers and 902 high schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 1,246 incidents. There were seven incidents of tobacco. For 1,192 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
Of the 895 out-of-school suspensions, 701 were given to boys and 194 were given to girls, including 210 elementary or middle schoolers and 685 high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 710 incidents. There were 115 incidents of drugs. For 706 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
