Village of Rockton issued the following announcement on Sept. 7.
All weather dependent, a few Village water main (not Rt. 75) construction updates from our Village engineer (Kevin Bunge at C.E.S. Inc.):
1. On Sept. 7, Thunder Rock Prairie (Barkwood Dog Park) water main boring will begin with the water main work beginning on Sept. 10. Work is anticipated to finish on Sept. 18.
2. Sept. 11 - 14: roadways will be prepped for paving.
3. Sept. 17 - road patching on remaining areas. Center St. will be later than other streets because it was an emergency add-on portion of the project.
4. Sept. 19 - 21: Parkway restoration to be completed.
5. Sept. 24: Restoration at Thunder Rock Prairie.
The contractor's contractual completion date is Oct. 29, 2018, so if weather cooperates, the project will be finished about a month ahead of schedule. Please note: schedules change on a weekly, if not daily basis, due to a variety of factors, largely weather. It has been a trying couple of years between IDOT's Rt. 75 project and the Village's large water projects, but thank you for your patience and understanding as the Village works with its contractors and IDOT on the many issues that arise.
