SWEDISHAMERICAN HOSPITAL: Mary Kay Delivers 200 Care Packages to SwedishAmerican Oncology Patients

Patient care

SwedishAmerican Hospital issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.

A shiny Mary Kay Pink Cadillac driven by Tandy Fischer, Mary Kay Senior Cadillac Sales Director, arrived at SwedishAmerican’s Regional Cancer Center on Wednesday, September 26 to deliver over 200 care packages to oncology patients.

Tandy Fischer began her partnership with SwedishAmerican in June 2018 after she was contacted by a friend asking for a product that would help soothe and comfort the burns on her skin following a radiation treatment. She called for donations via her personal Facebook page, leading to an overwhelming response from the community.

“I am very excited to be delivering over 200 of these packages to SwedishAmerican oncology patients,” Fischer said. “I have felt so much blessing from this act that allowed many people to show love for people in our city that they may never meet.”

The care packages included lotion that will aid in the healing of oncology patients’ dry and burned skin after radiation plus other comfort items and treats. The “pink partnership” between Mary Kay and SwedishAmerican cancer patients hopes to touch the 40+ patients SwedishAmerican sees each day for radiation treatment.
