ROCKFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT: Shots Fired Arrests

Rockford Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 9.

On Saturday, October 6, 2018 shortly after midnight, Rockford Police officers responded to the 1900 block of South 5th Street in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle in the area with two male occupants and a female occupant. The vehicle was searched, and officers located a loaded firearm. Officers also learned the female passenger was wanted on a warrant, and found her to be in possession of a substance believed to be cannabis. All three suspects were taken into custody. The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s office reviewed the case and authorized the below listed charges.

Aldridge Nolan Jr., 20, Rockford: Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID

Aurelious Friar, 18, Rockford: Possession of Cannabis, Failure to Appear (Warrant)

The 20-year-old male driver was released with a citation. Nolan and Friar were lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against them are merely accusations. Both Nolan and Friar are considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
