City of Loves Park issued the following announcement on Oct. 19.
The City of Loves Park is applying for Illinois Housing Development Authority’s housing rehabilitation funding. This program provides the opportunity for low-income residents to bring their house up to property codes without the high cost of home repairs. Improvements can include a roof, mechanicals, electrical, and plumbing improvements. This year there is a new component that will allow residents the opportunity to do a roof only option. This option has a lesser recapture time frame but the home must not need other major improvements. If successfully funded, the City will announce a time frame to accept pre-applications for a lottery drawing. Residents on the waiting list will be contacted prior to the accepting of pre-applications.
