City of Loves Park issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.
Dear Supporter,
Loves Park Police Officers will be sporting beards during the month of November for a good cause. With approval and support of our City Council and Mayor Greg Jury, the staff of the Loves Park Police Department will be participating in "No Shave November" for the second year.
During the month of November, our officers will be growing beards in support of Mercyhealth's Rooftop Childern's Playground, located on top of Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center on Riverside Blvd, opening in January, 2019.
Not only will our staff be sporting their beards, but they will also be donating to a worthwhile project. If you are able to help with this project, donations can be made to the Loves Park Police Department, 540 Loves Park Dr., Loves Park, Illinois 61111, in care of the No-Shave November Program.
