Belvidere Community Unified School District 100 issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.
District 100 is proud to announce a tax abatement of $2,525,000. Annually, the district takes their portion of sales tax receipts to abate part of the bond and interest levy, keeping the overall school district tax rate low for the community.
With the approval of the property tax levy and tax abatement, the tax rate for the upcoming year in the school district is projected to decrease to approximately 6.15.
