Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on Jan. 17.
Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Patrick H. McKenna, MD, FACS, FAAP, to the staff of Mercyhealth’s Javon Bea Hospital–Riverside. McKenna joins the team at Mercyhealth’s State-Designated Children’s Hospital from UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI, where he was Medical Director of the Pediatric Urology Department.
His special interests include:
- Hypospadias
- Undescended testis
- Urologic problems identified before birth (antenatal congenital surgery)
- Complex congenital reconstruction
- Minimally invasive surgery
- Hydronephrosis
- Genitourinary cancers
- Vesicoureteral reflux
- Incontinence and recurrent urinary tract infections
- Innovative treatments that decrease the use of medications, invasive studies, and surgery
Dr. McKenna earned his medical degree at the George Washington University, Washington, DC, and completed his Urology residency at the Naval Regional Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA. He also completed a Pediatric Urology fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Dr. McKenna is certified by the American Board of Urology with added certification in Pediatric Urology.
