Rockford Police Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 19.
A Rockford man is in custody on drug charges following a search of his home. Over the past several weeks, Rockford Police received complaints regarding suspicious drug activity in the 3300 block of Tannenbaum Lane. Detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit conducted a follow-up investigation and identified a residence (3351 Tannenbaum Lane) as the source of the complaints. On Thursday, January 17, 2019, detectives executed a search warrant of the residence and took one male suspect into custody. Detectives also located over seven ounces of cocaine in the residence.
The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and authorized the below listed charges against the suspect, 48-year-old James Coleman.
James Coleman, 48, Rockford: Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine (100 – 400 grams), Delivery of Cocaine (1-15 grams), Delivery of Cocaine (0-1 gram)
Coleman was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against Coleman are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
