Report: Winnebago spent $12,752 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Winnebago Community Unit School District 323 is up 28.1 percent from five years ago, according to a Rockford Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Winnebago County school district spent $9,952 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $12,752 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1491 to 1371.

Winnebago's spending in 2017-18 was 4.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
