Former state school employee Garza Dulian paid in $35K to teachers' pension fund, could collect $693K in retirement

Former state school employee Hilda Garza Dulian, who retired in February 2016, saved $34,913 toward a pension over 9 years working for public schools, Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Garza Dulian would collect as much as $693,261, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Rockford Sun.

The projection assumes Garza Dulian received $14,571 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 3 years of retirement, Garza Dulian will have already received $45,037 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the teachers' pension fund.
