Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Boone County?

There were 13 offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Boone County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rockford Sun.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Boone County were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 30. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a public safety violation in 2018, and the oldest was a 40-year-old man sentenced in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Joseph J. Follis. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2009 when he was 18 years old. He is now 29.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Boone County municipality.
