Illinois State House District 68 issued the following announcement on July 27
State Rep. John M. Cabello, R-Machesney Park, joined Korean War veterans, their families and members of the community for a ceremony on Saturday recognizing the 66th anniversary of the armistice that ended combat in the Korean War on July 27, 1953.
The ceremony was held at the Tri-County Korean War Memorial in Loves Park, hosted by the Greater Rockford Area Chapter 272 of the Korean War Veterans Association. Rep. Cabello welcomed the veterans and their families to the ceremony.
