City of Rockford Planning & Development Committee met Aug. 12.

I. CALL TO ORDER
Alderman Rose called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm.

A. Human Services Department and Community and Economic Development Department requests approval for the City to establish a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. Establishing a 501(c)(3) organization serves as the initial step to create a program in which the City would serve as a sponsor of a non-profit Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) for the purpose of developing affordable housing and reducing homelessness.
Alderman Rose introduced the item and stated that it was laid over from the last meeting on July 22, 2019. He asked if there were any questions or discussion. There were no questions; Alderman Tuneberg made a motion to approve and Alderman Ervins seconded the motion. MOTION PREVAILED 3-0 (Alderman McNeely and Alderman Durkee were absent.)
