Rockford home prices fall in the first quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2019 in Rockford fell by $4,500 while total sales decreased by 41.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2019, there were 322 homes sold, with a median sale price of $64,500 - a 6.5% decrease over the $69,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 551 homes sold in Rockford in the first quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Rockford for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,330, approximately 3.6% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2019.
