Illinois State House District 69 issued the following announcement on Sept. 23
Rep. Joe Sosnowski’s entry in this year’s “Scarecrows on Parade” sponsored by the Friends of the Cherry Valley Public Library features “Rosie” from the classic animated series The Jetsons, perfectly fitting the contest’s optional theme of “Animated Characters – Classic or Current”. You can see Rosie and all the other competition entries along E State Street in Cherry Valley from September 23 – October 25.
Rosie is scarecrow #50. You can VOTE for your favorite scarecrow at the library and selected downtown locations until Noon on Friday, October 25. The cost to vote is $1. You can vote an unlimited number of times. Vote for Rosie! (#50).
All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Cherry Valley Public Library.
Winners will be announced at the village’s Halloween Parade on October 26 at 4:00pm.
