Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on Oct. 15.
Mercyhealth is hosting a free and informal breastfeeding support group, at Javon Bea Hospital–Riverside, 8201 E. Riverside Blvd., fourth floor, room 4141, Rockford, Wednesdays, from 10-11 am.
This support group is designed for new moms to connect with other breastfeeding mothers and babies. Share concerns and encouragement, socialize, and exchange practical information. Lactation Consultants will answer questions. Baby scales are available to track baby’s weight gain. Remember, a breastfed baby who is gaining weight well is getting enough breast milk.
No need to register and mothers can attend as often as they like. Meetings that fall on a holiday will be canceled. For more information, call Mercyhealth’s Lactation Office at (815) 971-5020.
