UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

1. National Night Out (August 6, 2019) – Sergeant Pearse stated that there was a

great turn out for this year’s National Night Out Event. Sergeant Pearse and Scott Kramer had spoken earlier about hosting a pickle ball tutorial before next year’s event since this year was the first year for the new courts. Sergeant Pearse thanked the recreation committee for all of their help and for volunteering during the event. Sergeant Pearse is going to reach out to both the Winnebago County and Boone County Police Departments in hopes of having a K-9 Demonstration at next year’s National Night Out Event.

2. Fall Fishing – The Fall Fishing Event will be Saturday September 14, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM in Baumann Park. Trustee David Schroeder will be at Baumann Lake to help Mike Munger with the event.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Village Sponsored Scarecrow for the “Scarecrow on Parade” Event – The recreation committee will get together on Saturday September 21, 2019 to construct the scarecrow and put it up on the lamp post near the old clock downtown. Jill Wedig is going to see if she is able to get her life-sized Grinch and Max the Dog cut- outs to put on display. If Jill Wedig is unable to get the Grinch, then Judy Prisby and Dina Brandt have volunteered to look for a character costume at a resale shop for our scarecrow.

2. Halloween Parade and Party – The recreation committee is going to host the Halloween Party at the Granary again this year. The committee would like Scott Kramer to contact Rafael’s Rentals for tents again this year. Dina Brandt will order (16) dozen sugar cookies and (6) pounds of frosting for the cookie decorating. Jill Wedig is going to reach out to Suzanne (the Manager of the Cherry Valley at Schnuck’s Store) to see if the recreation committee buys a certain amount of candy if the store will donate some additional candy for the event. The Halloween Parade will begin at 4:00 PM at the tennis courts in Baumann Park and will end at the Granary, where the games and cookie decorating will be set up. The Parade will be on October 26, 2019 the Saturday before Halloween.

ADJOURNMENT: Dina Brandt entertained a motion to adjourn at 7:52 PM. Judy Prisby seconded. Motion carried by voice vote.
