Village of Rockton Public Works Committee met December 2.
Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:
Chairman Fridly called the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at 6:30 pm.
Members present: Mayor Adams, Dan Barber, Kevin Bunge, Scott Fridly, Cory Magnus, Jodi May and Don Self
Motion by Mr. Magnus, second by Mrs. May, to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of November 18, 2019. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
VILLAGE ENGINEER – KEVIN BUNGE
Village Engineer Kevin Bunge gave his report. A copy of his report is on file with the Village Clerk’s office.
MAYOR - DALE ADAMS
Mayor Adams suggested that the Village look into electric charging stations for vehicles and said that this was something that they talked about at the National League of Cities (NLC) Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Barber advised that he is checking into this and that he is waiting to hear back from Rock Energy.
WATER, SEWER, & GARBAGE – SCOTT FRIDLY
None.
STREETS AND WALKS – CORY MAGNUS
None.
BUILDINGS AND PARKS – JODI MAY
None.
PUBLIC WORKS – DAN BARBER
Mr. Barber stated that the residents of 316 S. Bridge Street requested relief on the sewer portion of their utility bill due to a broken pipe. Mr. Barber stated that the water went into the ground and not into the sewer. The Committee stated that they were okay with this. Motion by Mr. Fridly to approve $68.20 to be removed from their utility bill, second by Mr. Magnus. Roll call. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.
PARKS & RECREATION DIRECTOR – DON SELF
None.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS ALLOWED BY LAW
Mayor Adams advised the Committee that the Administration Committee had some concerns about how some of the funds for engineering are being spent because they don’t have a say so about this. Mr. Fridly stated that he will have a breakdown for the Administration Committee at the next meeting to address their concerns.
