Mayor McNamara expressed his appreciation to Public Works Director Kyle Saunders, Tim Hinkens, Jamie Rott and Ken Mattson for their diligent work on the Capital Improvement Program.
B. Alderman Beck
Alderman Beck stated it speaks highly of city staff that the 2020 Budget and the CIP were passed without any significant changes from the aldermen. He thanked city staff for their excellent work and direction with how the city should spend its resources to better our entire community.
C. Alderman Thompson-Kelly
Alderman Thompson-Kelly thanked city staff for their hard work on the 2020 Budget and CIP.
Alderman Thompson-Kelly announced the Rockford Solar for All Coalition Job Fair would take place on December 12, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Police District 1. She encouraged residents that are in need of a job to attend this job fair. Alderman Thompson-Kelly distributed flyers, which included information about the job fair, to each of the council members.
D. Alderman Rose
Alderman Rose shared that he participated in the Annual Blazo Coat Drive event over the weekend that helped raise money to benefit homeless individuals. He commented he had a great time and he thanked everyone who was involved in organizing the successful event.
Alderman Rose announced there is a Young Democrats meeting on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Irish Rose, 519 E. State Street. He mentioned this meeting is open to everyone regardless of their political party affiliation.
