Village of Machesney Park Village Board met May 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Mayor Steve Johnson. He indicated that pursuant to Executive Order No. 2020- 07 (COVID-19 Executive Order No. 5), Governor Pritzker has suspended certain rules of the Open Meetings Act. Specifically, that members of a public body must be physically present, therefore, the Village Board has chosen to conduct its upcoming meetings remotely.

1. Closed Session

Motion by Trustee Schmidt and seconded by Trustee Bailey to go into closed session pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), Personnel. Motion approved by voice vote.

2. Open Session

The Board went into Closed Session at 7:04 p.m. and returned to Open Session at 7:47 p.m.

Present: Mayor Steve Johnson, Trustees Joe Seipts, Jake Schmidt, James Kidd, Aaron Wilson, Terri Bailey, and Erick Beck

Present: Village Clerk Lori Mitchell

Village Attorney Tom Green

3. Motion/Pass

Motion by Trustee Schmidt and seconded by Trustee Seipts regarding employment expectations for Village Administrator Tim Savage through his date of resignation, July 31, 2020 as follows:

All day-to-day management of Village operations will be turned over to James Richter II effective immediately. Tim Savage will work with James on those issues, tasks or duties that require specific input, signature or approval. Tim will work with BSLBV to finalize the Police Contract. Tim will be available to James, Staff and the Trustees for consultation and provide input as needed. Tim’s office hours will be limited to work on the Police Contract and/or other special duties or transition issues as needed. Tim will be available to attend Board Meetings and to provide input.

There was no discussion following the motion. The motion was approved by roll call vote: 7 ayes (Trustees Seipts, Schmidt, Kidd, Wilson, Bailey, Beck and Mayor Johnson), 0 nays, 0 absent

4. Public Comment

There were no written public comments received prior to the meeting and the public was given the opportunity to call-in during the meeting. There were no call-ins for public comment.

5. Adjourn

Trustee Wilson moved to adjourn; seconded by Trustee Kidd. Motion approved by voice vote. Meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
