Village of Rockton Administration Committee met Feb. 17.

Chairman Winters called the regular meeting of the Administration Committee to order at 5:35 pm.
Members present: Mayor Adams, Arianne Honkamp, John Peterson and Dave Winters
Also present: Dan Barber, Chief Dickson, Tricia Diduch & Scott Fridly
Motion by Mr. Peterson, second by Mrs. Honkamp to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of February 3, 2020. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.

THE MAYOR – DALE ADAMS
None.
PUBLIC SAFETY & LEGAL – DAVE WINTERS, CHAIRMAN
Mr. Winters stated that the purchase requisition for Broadcast Microwave Services for an in-squad computer system and recorder/camera package in the amount of $11,991.47 is up for approval at the Village Board meeting on February 18, 2020. Chief Dickson advised the Committee that with the new squad cars from Enterprise they will have an extra car set up in case one goes down and that this is to equip the spare car for the police department. Chief Dickson added that they budgeted for this in the process of getting the new squad cars. The Committee was okay with this.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & BUDGET – JOHN PETERSON

ADMINISTRATION – ARIANNE HONKAMP

THE CHIEF– STEVE DICKSON
Chief Dickson stated they are still working on getting the Village email up and running properly.
PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATOR – TRICIA DIDUCH
Ms. Diduch advised the Committee that she has a signup sheet for anyone interested in working a shift for Stateline Business Expo that is being held at Hononegah High School on March 7th & 8th.
Ms. Diduch stated that she attended the Stateline Chamber dinner and that the Village of Rockton won the “Pride of the Stateline” award for the Rockton River Market.
Ms. Diduch added that the revolving loan request for Erica Charron (Erica’s Board Creations) is up for approval at the Village Board meeting on February 18, 2020. Ms. Diduch stated that Ms. Charron is purchasing the old Country Cottage building that has been vacant for 1.5 years and has great plans for her business.
Ms. Diduch said that “Once Upon a Dream” will be held at the downtown Village businesses on Sunday, March 1st from 1-4 pm. Ms. Diduch said that there are currently 16 businesses that are participating and that children will be able to meet princesses, fairies and heroes at the different locations. Ms. Diduch stated that she anticipates a good turnout for this event.
