Village of Rockton Administration Committee met Feb. 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairman Winters called the regular meeting of the Administration Committee to order at 5:33 pm. 

Members present: Arianne Honkamp, John Peterson and Dave Winters 

Also present: Dan Barber, Chief Dickson, Tricia Diduch, Scott Fridly and Jodi May 

Absent: Mayor Adams

Motion by Mrs. Honkamp, second by Mr. Peterson to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of January 20, 2020. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.

PUBLIC COMMENT 

None.

THE MAYOR – DALE ADAMS 

None.

PUBLIC SAFETY & LEGAL – DAVE WINTERS, CHAIRMAN 

Mr. Winters stated that the purchase requisition for CDW for the Watch Guard Firebox T70 in the amount of $1,969.44 is up for approval at the Village Board meeting on February 4, 2020. The Committee was okay with this.

Mr. Winters also discussed the Stone Ridge Subdivision issues with the Committee in reference to Mr. Youssi’s response to the meeting he had with Mr. Bunge (Village Engineer) and Atty. Szeto. Ms. Diduch stated that Mr. Youssi is stating that he isn’t the developer of the subdivision. The Committee discussed having a proper checklist moving forward as far as what Mr. Youssi needs to complete before the Village will take over the streets and utilities. Mr. Fridly added that the Village Board can talk to Atty. Szeto more about this tomorrow night at the Village Board meeting and see what he advises about what needs to be included in the agreement with Mr. Youssi moving forward and what the options are for the Village.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & BUDGET – JOHN PETERSON 

Mr. Peterson discussed how successful the Yeti Fest event was this year with the Committee. Ms. Diduch stated that approximately 2,000 – 3,000 people attended the event. Ms. Diduch added that Main Street was busy Saturday and that the “Hot Cocoa Crawl” was a sold out event. Ms. Diduch stated that several people complimented how fun the scavenger hunt was for their families.

ADMINISTRATION – ARIANNE HONKAMP 

None.

THE CHIEF– STEVE DICKSON 

Chief Dickson stated that he would be out of town starting on Thursday, but that Deputy Chief Hollinger will be available.

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATOR – TRICIA DIDUCH 

Ms. Diduch stated that she will be attending the Stateline Chamber Gala this week and that the Village was nominated for the “Pride of the Stateline” award for the Rockton River Market.

Ms. Diduch added that the RoRo Expo is being held at Hononegah High School March 7th & 8th and that she will have a signup sheet available for those who would like to volunteer and work shifts for the Village.

None.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS ALLOWED BY LAW 

None.

Motion by Mrs. Honkamp, second by Mr. Peterson to adjourn at 5:52 pm.
