Stateline Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.
The law firm WilliamsMcCarthy LLP announced the recent addition of Associate Tanner Long. His practice will focus on employment and labor law, intellectual property law, and commercial litigation with a particular interest in supporting new and emerging companies and industries including eSports and gaming, renewable energy, cannabis and others.
Before joining WilliamsMcCarthy LLP, Long practiced at Schiff Hardin LLP in New York City where he counseled clients regarding their labor and employment matters, assisted litigating cases in front of the National Labor Relations Board, advocated on behalf of a non-profit in response to issues faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, and assisted on private equity refinancings and corporate contract negotiations. Long also served as a judicial clerk for the retired Judge Ed Prochaska of the Illinois 17th Circuit Court and interned with the Environmental Protection Unit of the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
Long graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law magna cum laude. In law school, he served as the managing editor of The Elder Law Journal, was recognized with several CALI Excellence for the Future Awards and was a student coach for the Illinois Trial Team.

Long is admitted to practice in New York and his admission with the State of Illinois is pending. He is a member of the eSports Bar Association.
