Pecatonica Fire Protection District responded to 87 calls in 2018 - 47.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Pecatonica included 65 fires - 29 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 30 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $295,100 in fire loss - or about $4,540 per fire.

The department also received 20 false calls.

The Pecatonica Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $428,167 in 2018.
