North Boone Fire Department #3 responded to 84 calls in 2018 - 27.3 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in North Boone #3 included 46 fires - 25 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and 14 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $188,000 in fire loss - or about $4,087 per fire.

The department also received 36 false calls.
