Village of Rockton Administration Committee met June 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairman Winters called the regular meeting of the Administration Committee to order at 5:30 pm.  Members present: Mayor Adams, Arianne Honkamp, John Peterson and Dave Winters Staff present: Chief Dickson & Tricia Diduch

Motion by Mr. Peterson, second by Mrs. Honkamp to waive the reading of and approve the minutes of June 1, 2020. All ayes. Motion approved 3-0.  

PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

THE MAYOR – DALE ADAMS

None.

PUBLIC SAFETY & LEGAL – DAVE WINTERS, CHAIRMAN

Mr. Winters stated that the blanket purchase orders for the police department are up for approval at the Village  Board meeting on June 16, 2020. The Committee was okay with this.

Mr. Winters inquired if the Village was going to have $75,000 at the end of the fiscal year and if that was  realistic. Mayor Adams stated that they will have to talk to Ms. Quimby (Village Treasurer) and Ms. Hughes  (Village Collector) at the budget & finance meeting about this.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & BUDGET – JOHN PETERSON

Mr. Peterson stated that several resolutions to support the downstate small stabilization grant were up for  approval at the Village Board meeting as well. The resolutions are as follows:

---Resolution 2020-113: Resolution of Support for a Downstate Small Business Stabilization Grant for   Balsley Printing

---Resolution 2020-114: Resolution of Support for a Downstate Small Business Stabilization Grant for   Curtis-Korb Inc. d/b/a STEM for Kids

---Resolution 2020-115: Resolution of Support for a Downstate Small Business Stabilization Grant for   Fat Catt Café

---Resolution 2020-116: Resolution of Support for a Downstate Small Business Stabilization Grant for   RoomTagz

Mr. Peterson added that Resolution 2020-117: A Resolution of the Village of Rockton, Illinois Authorizing a Fair Housing Policy for the Village of Rockton is up for approval. Ms. Diduch stated that all five resolutions  are tied together for grant purposes. The Committee was okay with this.

ADMINISTRATION – ARIANNE HONKAMP

None.

THE CHIEF– STEVE DICKSON

None.

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATOR – TRICIA DIDUCH

Ms. Diduch advised the Committee that Tom Herschlag, a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) for the Village, passed away.

Ms. Diduch advised the Committee that the outdoor dining is still going well. Chief Dickson inquired if the businesses are going to be able to extend their hours. Ms. Diduch stated that the current hours are Sunday – Thursday until 9 pm and Friday/Saturday evenings until 10 pm. Mayor Adams said that they may be able to  

do a consensus at the Village Board meeting to extend the hours. Ms. Diduch stated that Al’s Main Street Tap also wants to have permanent outdoor seating so they will have to apply for a special use permit.  

Ms. Diduch added that the special use permit for the glass shop in downtown Rockton is up for approval at the Village Board meeting as well.

Motion by Mr. Peterson, second by Mrs. Honkamp to adjourn at 5:40 pm.
