City of Rockford issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.
Recently, Insurify named Rockford as one of the 2021 Best Cities for New Homebuyers. Insurify, an insurance quotes comparison website, named one city per state to the list after analyzing real estate demand, employment levels, public school enrollment and driver and pedestrian safety.
Here are just a few reasons we think Rockford is a great place to live:
Flat Tax Levy – The City of Rockford has either reduced or kept its property tax levy flat eight consecutive years.
Investing in Infrastructure – Our 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) invests more than $129 million into our infrastructure.
Rockford Promise – This unique partnerships between the City of Rockford, Rockford Promise, Rockford Public Schools and Northern Illinois University provides free tuition at NIU to eligible RPS 205 students who live in Rockford.
Reducing Blight – Through our Land Bank, Trustee and Demolition programs, we’re taking down abandoned homes or turning them into useable property, which strengthens our neighborhoods and gives residents more pride in their community.
