Stateline Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Apr. 1.
Forest City Gear, an industry-leading manufacturer of fine and medium pitch custom gears, was recently selected as the “Large Business of the Year” for 2021 by the Stateline Chamber. Each year, the Stateline Chamber accepts nominations via its website. An awards committee reviews the nominations, narrows the field to three finalists in each category, and selects one winner per category based on the nominees’ contributions to excellence in the community within their respective categories.
According to Kika Young, Director of Corporate Management at Forest City Gear, “Forest City Gear has been in the Stateline area since our founding in 1955. We moved from our original location in Rockford, IL to Rockton in the early 1960s before settling into our current location in 1965 on Main Street in Roscoe. We have some serious small-town pride and are honored to provide income to more than 100 local families. It does not matter how much advanced technology and equipment we bring through the doors if we do not have a talented and skilled team to put it in action. There is a direct correlation between our wonderful group of folks and our successes, and we are humbled to have been chosen for this award.”
