City of Rockford issued the following announcement on Apr. 29.
After naming Interim Chiefs for the Rockford Fire and Rockford Police departments, the Fire and Police Commission took the first step towards finding permanent replacements. They hired Industrial/Organization Solutions (IOS) to help with the recruitment and selection process. IOS has recently helped many municipalities with similar searches, including Austin, TX, Oak Park, IL, Omaha, NE and Sidney, OH.
“We are excited to bring on an outside consultant to help us with national searches for these two critically important positions,” says Sam Schmitz, member of the Fire and Police Commission. “We know we have some impressive internal candidates, but we also want to attract quality candidates from across the country to make sure we select the very best and most qualified people for these positions.”
